I would like to introduce myself; my name is Dave King, managing director of Truck Radio.co.uk. We are a brand new radio station operating 24 hours a day, totally aimed at the trucking industry. This brand-new service will begin very shortly via Alexa, Google and the Internet covering the whole of the UK.
The trucking industry has 450,000 registered vehicles on the road. Currently this sector is not serviced by a single radio station, so Truck Radio.co.uk will be the first station dedicated to the industry and directly talking to the driver in the cab (a very captive audience). We will be a mix of music, news, traffic news and industry issues, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Truckradio.co.uk will be inviting all types of industry spokespeople to interact with the drivers and associated haulage people back at base. Truck Radio will also interact with the drivers on the road through call in programmes, music choices, travel news and competitions.
We have a team of presenters based throughout the country with many years of experience. I, myself, have been in radio for over 30 years and I am very excited to be bringing this opportunity to you. Truck Radio will be totally funded by a mixture of sponsorship and advertising, which will be part of each programme throughout the day.
